Lost
1. adj. The state of no longer being possessed or known.
2. adj. Unable to find one's way.
3. n. An unhealthy obsession, characterized by nonstop repetitive watching of DVD box sets and surfing of affiliated websites. Can also result in often-heated debates with Internet geeks over meanings of symbols and theories to which one still ascribes despite mountains of evidence to the contrary.
The Lost Experience has come to an end. Season 3 begins next Wednesday. In the interregnum, I shall make an attempt to get out in the light. Climb out of my hatch, as it were. But then WHO WILL PUSH THE BUTTON?!
WAKE UP, MAN! BACK TO REALITY. I must come back to reality. The leaves are starting to change, monarch butterflies are about, Thomas Werner Mittlewerk is plotting to slaughter 30% of the human race for scientific purposes....
WAKE UP! Think about something else! Be an individual for God's sake! Make your own kind of music. Sing your own special song. PUSH THE BUTTON.
WAKE THE HELL UP! Okay. Obviously I need help. Somebody give me something to occupy my brain. Just nothing too islandish.

Have you sampled the Studio 60 yet?
I didn't catch the DJ Dan podcast that capped off the Experience. Was it ground-shaking?
Quite. It led us to the final Rachel Blake video, from Narvik, Norway, in which she finally caught up with the man himself... Alvar Hanso. The link to the podcast recording itself has been removed, probably due to bandwidth issues, it's a 56M file. It might be up again somewhere soon. The link to the Rachel/Alvar video on YouTube is somewhere on Lostpedia.
I have seen the Studio 60 and I'm not as impressed as I thought I'd be, but I'm willing to continue the ride. Have you looked into Kidnapped or Vanished?
No and no, I'm afraid. They just didn't stand out for me for some reason. How about Heroes? I'm reserving judgement for now. The Pilot was interesting but not striking. Previews for future episodes hint at some neat stuff to come, though.
The abduction shows do all sort of run together. I've cut Without a Trace from my viewing list because I've gotten into Vanished. I'm also gradually filtering out the science of forensics. I cut CSI Miami after the season premiere because it concluded all running story lines and I don't want to get into any new ones. I'm thinking of just watcing one show per genre. I just don't have the time and I'm burned out on crime and forensics.
Also, I haven't seen Heroes yet, though I feel like I have, because I've watched about 9,000 hours of ads for it. I can't see how it could possibly live up to all of its hype. Still, I'll keep an open mind.
The Heroes pilot was essentially the string of events that you saw in the previews. Episode Two, however, started to flesh things out a bit. I really like Hiro, the Japanese dude who can break the space-time continuum, and he had a pretty neat story in last night's episode. I'm starting to see glimmers of this being a really neat show, but I'm still reserving the full strength of fanboy joy until it can prove itself. I'd still say it's worth a look, though.
I've now seen episodes 1 and 2. The pilot didn't thrill me at all but I'm glad to see that 2 was much better. Though they'd better get off of the tired "wrongfully accused of a crime they didn't commit" device right quick.
Also: did you see the ad for 1 vs. 100? I don't know anything about how the game is played, but that set looks so amazing that I'm going to go into anticipation mode. Remember G vs. E? I'm going to call this show I vs. C! Because I'm clever.
Studio 60 is once again growing on me. I prefer it when we only see snippets of the finished sketches instead of an entire finished sketch.
Keep the premeires coming, I says. Lost, the Nine and South Park tonight, Battlestar Galactica on Friday. Fracking AWESOME.
I walked in on the end of the 1 vs. 100 promo, and we were watching live TV so we couldn't rewind. I'm sure I'll catch it again. I'm a sucker for new game shows.
I'm uber-psyched for the Lost premiere tonight. Of course, going to see it at a friend's house on a wall-sized HD projection screen doesn't hurt.
Speaking of SciFi Fridays, are you a Who watcher? Do you like Barty Crouch, Jr. as the Doctor? I'm enjoying him quite a bit so far.
Okay. First episode of the new season of Lost starts with a mind-blowingly awesome introduction. One wouldn't think that I could be fooled by the same obtuse intro strategy two season premieres in a row. One would be wrong. Now One will have to face 100.
I have never been much of a Dr. Who fan. I caught a few episodes of the 80s version when they were airing on late nights on SciFi. Never really got into it.
Based on the last few scenes of Heroes last night, this show is about to get really neat. I'm excited.
1 vs. 100 was interesting, but I'm not sure it has the same lure as Deal or No Deal. The questions seem too easy at this point. Hopefully, a few more runs will further illuminate the game mechanics.
Anthony Stewart Head was on Doctor Who on Friday. He did a lot of freaky screaching.
